FRANK HARRIS is a musician, composer, engineer and music producer. He received his B.A. in music performance/classical guitar from UCLA. Frank plays piano, guitar, sings, composes and arranges music with the aid of computers and synthesizers. Frank became one of the world’s experts at programming the Synclavier, an early digital synthesizer. For the past 35 years he has run Third Wave Productions, his music production company. His outstanding work as a recording engineer has provided him critical acclaim in numerous audiophile publications. 

His CD, Daboa’s From the Gekko (1997), was reviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered. A combination of real world and synthesized music, rich South American vocals and jazz, it’s highly praised work that’s both accessible and intelligent. 

Frank’s accomplishments range from film scoring and commercials to documentaries and production. His works include: musical composition for Joseph Campbell’s acclaimed lecture series, film scores such as the award - winning PBS documentary Not All Parents are Straight, and the independent film Three by Three. Frank’s original movie soundtrack No Retreat, No Surrender aka Karate Tiger staring Jean Claude Van Damme has become a international cult classic 80’s hit and receives millions of plays on the web.  Frank composed and produced an original theme for ESPN’s primetime show, The Season, composed the theme and score for Hearst Entertainment’s nationally syndicated TV series The Bravest, as well as music for the TV show, B. Smith with Style. He has collaborated 5 times with internationally known print media artist Jimin Lee - composing original music to her prints. They have exhibited their works in Berlin, China, Finland, Canada, Australia, Japan and most recently in the DMZ in Korea. Frank has been mixing live blues concerts for “Pass the Pick Productions”. These have included performances by Grammy nominated Cedric Burnside and Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real who contributed their performances on Lady Gaga’s Oscar-winning movie soundtrack A Star is Born. He recently mixed a CD for the delta Blues artist Dexter Allen.  He also mixed an acclaimed 5.1 surround sound music mix for Grammy nominated band The North Mississippi Allstars.  

Frank resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Engineering and Mixing

Frank records and mixes music in many genres using the latest and state-of-the-art computer software and hardware in his production studio. Below are some of his recent music mixes done for live HD video multi-cam performances with current performing artists. Many of these projects originated from Frank’s long time collaborator and friend, Johnny Reid.
